Injectables

Liquid Facelift

The liquid facelift is used to correct the appearance of thin, sagging skin and hollowness, without the use of incisions or general anesthesia. A liquid facelift can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, restore depleted tissue volume, and reduce facial folds using only injectables. Generally, dermal fillers and neuromodulators are combined during a liquid facelift. This comprehensive approach successfully eliminates both dynamic and static wrinkles while supporting natural-looking, personalized results.

Botox

After being approved by the FDA for cosmetic use in 2002, Botox quickly became one of the most popular treatments for the visible signs of aging. Today, over one million Americans turn to Botox every year to get rid of wrinkles without surgery. Before being used cosmetically, Botox was employed to treat migraine headaches, excessive sweating, and muscle spasms. Numerous long-term studies have shown that Botox is safe for both medical and cosmetic use, and adverse reactions to this compound are very rare.

Botox works by temporarily blocking nerve signals in treated areas. When Botox is injected into specific muscle groups, it prevents the nerves from telling those muscles to move when the patient smiles, laughs, or frowns. This reduces the number and severity of dynamic wrinkles – creases that only appear in response to facial movement. When injected properly, Botox will not interfere with your ability to make facial expressions. Botox is used in small quantities to relax only the muscles that cause wrinkles, not the larger muscles that allow you to make natural facial expressions.

Most patients seek Botox to smooth out crow’s feet, frown lines, and brow creases. Botox can also relax dynamic wrinkles around the mouth and nose. Injections are painless, and patients can return to all their normal activities immediately after treatment.

Xeomin

Xeomin works similarly to Botox, but it has unique properties that make it a better choice for some patients. Xeomin was designed specifically to target deep creases between the brows, rather than being a general treatment for all dynamic wrinkles.

This product contains a pure, active neuromodulator; it doesn’t contain any additives. Xeomin requires more time than Botox or Dysport to take effect (three to four days on average, as compared to just one to three days), but it’s believed to be more potent due to its purity.

Xeomin might be right for you if you have stubborn frown lines that have not responded optimally to Botox. Xeomin is also typically a good choice for patients who have become resistant to the effects of Botox after years of repeated injections. Some researchers believe that people are less likely to develop resistance to the effects of Xeomin because it doesn’t contain any additives.

Dysport

Dysport is ideal for smoothing numerous, diffuse dynamic wrinkles around the eyes and brows. This product, like Botox and Xeomin, blocks nerve signals to relax the muscles in specific problem areas. However, Dysport has a slightly thinner gel consistently, which allows it to spread more easily, compared to Botox and Xeomin; this makes it easier to treat a larger area with less product. Dysport also contains smaller molecules than Botox. This further reduces the amount of product that must be used to achieve optimal results. Some patients prefer this approach to treatment, while others like the more targeted results of Botox or Xeomin. All neuromodulators wear off three to four months after injection. If you like the results of your Botox, Xeomin, or Dysport treatment, you can choose to have your injections topped up after they’ve dissolved. After several neuromodulator treatments, most patients only need to have injections administered once every six months. Over time, their muscles learn to remain more relaxed.

Neuromodulator injections are affordable, and most appointments take just 15 minutes, so it’s easy to discover the benefits of these compounds for yourself.
